15th November 2016 - Kit & Athlete Update
Apologies as I’ve been a bit slow on the blog updates recently, but I’ve been working hard behind the scenes on several things including official PTC kit which is now available for PTC athletes and anyone else that likes the look of the kit.
Aside from that, some PTC athletes have been very busy in the last couple of months.
Chris finished his first Ironman and didn’t just potter round – he nailed it. He stuck to his race plan religiously and despite the weather at Mallorca Ironman, finished in an amazing 12:22:46. Well done Chris.
Mags finished her third triathlon and is improving month by month finishing the 5k at the end of Fleetwood triathlon in under 30 minutes. Well done Mags.
Myself and Graeme found a perfect opportunity to test the new PTC short sleeve triathlon speed top when we had a race up Cragg Vale - on fold up Bromptons - as part of the Blazing Saddles Bike Shop Charity Challenge. Despite the weather, fun was had by all with myself taking 2nd place overall and even beating some Rio Paralympians who allegedly were taking it easy. Must be the new top ;-)
We’ve also had a couple of PTC athletes going global with a run in NYC and another along the Great Wall Of China - great work guys.
More recently, myself, Graeme, Chris and Mags all took part in the Lytham Windmill 10k.
After a PTC 6 week 10k masterplan, these were the results:
Mags (in her 1st 10k and only after 3 months of running) finished in an amazing 56 minutes and 6 seconds.
Chris PB’d with a great time of 46 minutes 43 seconds.
Graeme PB’d with a solid 42 minutes and 39 seconds.
And I managed to bring home a prize finishing 11th overall and 1st in my age group in a time of 39 minutes and 34 seconds.
I think that nicely rounds up the last few months.
Onwards and upwards,
